Wyoming is no stranger to oil spills and spills of varying types. Many have been classified as accidents, while others have been classified as emergencies.

The latest incident — an oil spill of a magnitude 5.4 in central Wyoming, near the town of Vanda — is the second time in less than two years the company has spilled oil to the public, according to the Associated Press.

“This is not an emergency,” the company says in a press release. “This will be our last time being at the scene.”

But on Monday, state and federal regulators acknowledged that a spill of 10,000 barrels spilled 2,000 barrels of oil in a field west of the town.

The spill, which started at about 11:30 a.m. (4:30 p.m. ET)바카라, hit a field off of Vanda Road, about 40 miles northwest of Horseshoe Point.

According to the AP, as much as 1,000 barrels were spilled.

In a statement issued after the incident occurred, the Montana-based company said that it plans to send a crew to examine and determine what caused the spill.

But state regulators said that they weren’t aware of anything that would confirm or contradict the company’s earlier conclusions about what caused the spill.
