On Thursday the UN warned of the “humanitarian 광주 출장 안마crisis” facing the war on drugs, and called on the international community to take action on the issue with a priority in eradicating prohibition – and to ensure that those responsible for the war on drugs are brought to justice.

The UN chief, Ban Ki-moon, said his agency would hold a global drug summit on 2 June, and called for a “national strategy” to eliminate the use of drug use and violence and to establish “an effective international strategy of drug control and law enforcement”.

The UN’s drug envoy, Pablo Alvarez, told the Guardian: “I do not believe you can solve the problem by one policy but you need to be able to respond to what’s going on with a coordinated, holistic approach. That’s why I urge all countries not to wait for one thing and say ‘we can’t do it’ because they will not.”

The conference, which Alvarez is due to hold later this month, will seek to work on how to “implement and enforce the UN [drug] conventions” but also to devise a national strategy to end drugs, he said.
