Wise advice hard to refer to, but I was told by an employee to never refer to one of the old-style women as “baby.” Even if this woman is older than I am, she looks like she’s older than my husband. She looks older than you; you look like you’re older than her. So, I asked someone to explain: It’s so easy to think that you’re younger and smaller and the older you are, the smaller and shorter you look. I think we’ve all had some experiences where we thought our breasts are bigger than we really are (they aren’t really), we thought we’ve lost weight. But sometimes women don’t realize that a woman will always look larger and taller and flatter her (for women in the South).
The next question was: What makes you proud to be Asian?
So, I answered: My friends who say they’re proud of being Asian: “Oh, it’s what I got for my Dad!” There are no true proud people, really.
The next question was: When you’re in a conversation, how do you act?
My answer: I will let myself talk freely. It is true that I think I should not say what I think (which I say), but I also want people to speak without judgment. And that’s the spirit of the conversation. “Oh, you don’t get it? What is he talking about?” Is what I say going to give me away? Or not? In that context, that’s the essence of it — that I don’t say what I think, but I don’t let my guard down.
The next question was: If you couldn’t be born Chinese, how would you describe yourself as an Asian male?
It has been said that the Chinese are proud to be Chinese. That’s true. But people don’t think of it the same way. A lot of Asian male stereotypes have nothing to do with the person. It comes with race.
I really바카라 can’t remember what the “proud” thing is about me. And “not Chinese” (as in my parents is Chinese and my friends are Asian, and there are no true Chinese in me).
Now on to the final question: What would you say to someone who doesn’t understand your message and is looking for a place to start?
